The Oregon fires led to the Oregon Convention Center partnering with mutual aid organizations to find safe sites for all residents, including minorities and those without homes, to receive services and supplies during the crisis. This collaborative effort allowed resources to be sent to different sites without having to move the main site at Lloyd Theater, allowing for pre-planning and meeting the coming needs of the affected communities.
Amid the pandemic and police brutality, people are rallying around to take care of the community since the government and police are not doing enough. People want the community to be taken care of through various lenses, such as Black Lives Matter, anti-fascism, and bossing police.
