The US should consider an emergency policy action to produce and make treatments available to let doctors use their best judgment rather than have the FDA make all decisions for them, particularly in the current high-risk zones. This would help people get back to work and prevent economic calamity amidst the COVID-19 outbreak.

With the possibility of a large number of asymptomatic people already having developed antibodies to COVID-19, a faster way to get the population back to work and prevent an economic crisis would be to develop more treatment options such as remdesivir, chloroquine, and cholera and let doctors use their best judgment to decide when to use them rather than wait for the clinical trials and FDA approvals.
