Importance of measuring bone mineral density, visceral fat, appendicular lean mass index and fat free mass index
The four important metrics everyone should measure are bone mineral density, visceral fat, appendicular lean mass index, and fat free mass index. Blood testing biomarkers are not a particularly helpful tool in cancer risk assessment, but maintaining good cognitive health as you age reduces the risk of dementia.

Blood testing for biomarkers is not particularly helpful for cancer risk reduction, and instead, focusing on improving metabolic health, cognitive health, and doing functional tests (such as DEXA, CPET testing, VO2 max testing, zone two lactate testing, and fat oxidation) can be more beneficial.

DEXA scans provide accurate measurements of bone mineral density, visceral fat and metrics for computing appendicular lean mass index and fat-free mass index.

Summary
DEXA scans provide accurate measurements of bone mineral density, visceral fat and metrics for computing appendicular lean mass index and fat-free mass index. Body fat measurement is considered the least interesting of the four metrics produced by DEXA scans.
