Federal prosecutors have charged David Depepe with attempted kidnapping and assaulting the relative of a federal official after he broke into Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco home and attacked her husband with a hammer while he was sleeping. Depepe later told police he intended to take Ms. Pelosi hostage and break her kneecaps.
