The Date of the Pompeii Eruption
Historians suggest that the date of the Pompeii eruption might not be August 24th as commonly believed but rather October 24th or November 24th due to uncertainties in the various drafts of the letter written by Pliny the Younger plus other circumstantial evidence. The city was buried in around 10 meters of ash and pumice.
