The Diversity Within The Black Experience of Slavery
The uniform sense of Blackness that we often assume when reflecting on Black history is not completely accurate when considering the diverse backgrounds of those who were abducted and sold into slavery. People from various countries, with different languages, beliefs and even those who may have been at war with each other at some points, were forced into the same conditions of inhumane and cruel treatment that piled up on top of each other.
