In a study, a patient was shown pictures of a winter house, a shovel, a chicken's head, and a chicken claw projected to the left or right visual field. When asked to explain his choices, the patient seemed unaware that his left hemisphere chose the shovel because it saw it as necessary for cleaning the chicken shed, while the right hemisphere chose the chicken's head.
