The Relationship Between SHBG and Testosterone
The sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) is attaching to the testosterone molecule and limiting the amount of free testosterone that is available to have its impact on cells. Even if one's testosterone does not change, an increase in SHBG can result in more testosterone binding and increased estrogen levels.
