Steve Jobs was born in 1955 to a Wisconsin girl and a Syrian immigrant who gave him up for adoption on the condition that he be placed with college graduate parents. The Jobs, who were not college graduates, promised to send him to college which enabled them to adopt him. He had a good and possibly spoiled upbringing in the Santa Clara Valley with his loving adoptive parents, Paul and Clara.
