The FBI received reports in 2017 of militia extremist activity led by Larry Hopkins, also known as Johnny Horton Jr., and his group, the United Constitutional Patriots. The group was allegedly armed with AK-47 rifles and planning to murder high-profile individuals, including a former president and secretary of state.
