Despite higher spending on healthcare, Americans die younger than people in other countries. A report by the National Institutes of Health and the National Academy of Sciences, titled "Shorter Lives, Poorer Health," revealed that Americans under 50 are dying earlier and living with worse health than their counterparts in over 60 other high-income countries.
