Association between Epstein-Barr Virus and Multiple Sclerosis
Researchers found that 100% of the people who got Multiple Sclerosis were infected with Epstein-Barr virus during a certain period of time. A steroid used to treat high blood pressure may help stop the virus from leaving cells, suggesting that Epstein-Barr virus is the primary cause of MS that triggers the immune system to attack the brain.
