After feeling rejected as a freshman, one woman's confidence was restored after winning a literary prize and realizing the value of her unique personal experiences and perspective as a writer. Although she lost the Arabic language due to being fluent in French and English later on in life, she developed a sense of assurance in herself and her writing abilities.
