Breaking the Stimulus Response Loop of Habit Forming Products
The design of habit-forming products is to constantly put users through a hook, creating a stimulus-response loop. Breaking this loop is necessary to stop associating the habit-forming product with boredom, avoidance of work and escape. The best way to break the loop is to schedule the usage making it more of a chore and use it in a cold state rather than an emotional hot state, whose explanation has been given in the book Hooked.
