Charles Kessler became the editor of the Claremont Review of Books in 2000, and under his leadership, it became one of the most highly regarded cultural and literary publications of the American right. In his 2021 book, Crisis of the Two Constitutions, Kessler argues that the takeover of the country by the administrative state marked a fundamental change in the understanding of government's purpose and was based on a new view of the nature of man.
