Coco the Gorilla became an unexpected ambassador for the environment when she participated in the first ever Interspecies Internet Chat hosted by AOL in 1998. Despite not having thought of herself as such, Coco's participation paved the way for raising awareness about the importance of conservation and environmentalism.
