The efficacy of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in the treatment of gender dysphoria has been called into question, with little statistical evidence demonstrating long-term benefits and potential brain and cognitive development risks. However, the NHS continues to provide transgender youth with puberty blockers, despite a lack of proven benefits.
