The idea of decentralized social media can lead to rethinking algorithms of engagement for utilities, instead of conducting their business through an engagement algorithm. Perhaps the responsibility of policing should not fall on the government but rather, private companies acting as a means to maintain a safe and productive virtual space for millions of users.
