The Department of Justice's two-year investigation into the Louisville, Kentucky Police Department has found broad patterns of discriminatory practices, including the use of excessive force and searches based on so-called no-knock warrants. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced an agreement to overhaul these practices following the investigation, which was prompted by the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor by police in Louisville in 2020.
