Death Valley National Park is known for its stunning natural formations, including the Badwater Basin, Artist's Palette, and the mesquite flat sand dunes, which attract around 1.5 million visitors each year despite the intense heat. With some areas receiving very little precipitation, it was first protected as a national monument in 1933 and later designated as a park in 1994.
