Finding a balance between potent, rewarding behavior and pleasurable activities that are not too potent is key to avoiding a vicious cycle of dopamine deficit. It is essential to leave enough space in between for the gremlins to hop off, and for homeostasis to be restored by engaging in non-addictive pleasurable activities, at least two or three times a week.
