An unvaccinated man in Texas has died due to COVID-19 and was revealed to have the Omicron strain of the virus, making him the first person in the US whose death is publicly attributed to it. Walgreens has imposed a limit on the purchase of at home tests, whilst Sweden and Portugal have announced new COVID rules.
