A memo written by former Facebook data scientist Sophie Zhang has revealed that Facebook is being leveraged by foreign governments on a magnificent scale to mislead their citizenry and manipulate international news events. Leaders of political parties in Azerbaijan and Honduras, along with countries such as India, Spain, Ukraine, Brazil, Bolivia, and Ecuador, were found to be coordinating campaigns to influence political outcomes through the use of fake accounts and misrepresentations.
