Gabe Newell, the co-founder and CEO of video game development company Valve Corporation, has provided ChefSteps with a favorable loan, but does not own any part of the company nor control how they operate. He has also shown interest in the company's approach to food and cooking, even hosting a dinner that was cooked by ChefSteps.
