The Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature is pushing for legal bodies and systems worldwide to recognize ecosystems and nature as entities having legal rights to exist, persist, maintain, and regenerate their vital cycles. Ecuador was the first country to recognize the rights of nature in their actual constitution back in 2008.
