Inside The Interactive Activation Model Of Letter Perception
The interactive activation model of letter perception, created by Rommel Hart and his colleague, Dr. McClelland, is a set of neuron-like processing units that can construct line segment features, letters, and words out of pixel-level inputs with connections, weights and a bottom-up feature. Understanding the model, means you begin to understand how the mind and brain construct words from letters, and how these computations are carried out at a neural level.
