The fire department discovered an active fire on the metal casing of a furnace in a back bedroom of a house in rural Indiana. The bedroom sustained the most damage due to heavy soot, but evidence revealed that a closed bedroom door prevented the fire from spreading further and that a propane tank heater located near the bed may have been the cause of the fire.
