Jack Parsons became Aleister Crowley's American representative for the OTO, and helped fund the latter's later years through his fundraising skills, which Crowley heavily relied on to keep him alive. Their relationship was that of a mentor and mentee, with Parsons addressing Crowley as "my most beloved father" and signing his letters as "thy son, John."
