Loop quantum gravity shares some quantum space ideas with string theory, such as topological gravity aspects, but lacks some of its features. String theory has a property where if space is made smaller than the plank scale, by a factor of 10, it is equivalent to making the space bigger, while in loop quantum gravity, this inversion is a very subtle effect.
