Municipal bonds and municipal equity (such as city coins) are the next version of municipal bonds in the DFI economy, where every asset trades against every other asset. Economic competition helps improve cities and ultimately benefits the lives of people, but restricting construction in cities can be short-sighted and could lead to loss of demand over time.
