The prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has brought into power right-wing religious Zionists who take their ideology from an extremist movement, the Kahanists, who have been banned. While Netanyahu is not solely responsible for the structural conditions of a settler colonial state that does not treat everybody properly, he is deeply implicated and often antagonizes and agitates for the right-wing extremists.
