Researchers studying nose-picking amongst adults found that only 2% of participants self-identified as nose-pickers to the extent that it impacted their daily life or caused medical issues such as perforation of the septum. Participants typically engaged in nose-picking only when no tissue was available and it did not interfere with their daily functioning.
