Certain forms of speech, such as fraud and obscenity, have never been protected by the First Amendment, and even sedition in certain forms is not allowed in the United States. The argument for limiting certain speech is that it can undermine speech altogether, as shown in some of the woke, politically correct educational ideologies today.
