The Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 created a lot of panic in the American society as people started to worry about a nuclear attack which might lead to the end of their lives and society. Plans were made including moving the President and his family out of the White House, amassing army units in Florida, and ensuring enough food and canned goods for survival.
