The CIA’s “Project Jennifer” involved the recovery of a sunken Soviet submarine in the Pacific Ocean in 1974 through a large claw-like contraption that was constructed for the mission. Despite a “10 second long earthquake” and the presence of the Soviet Navy, the operation was successful.
