A surgeon named Dr. Leir found a complex iron alloy in patient 17's leg, which was also nearly 25% meteoric iron, suggesting that some of the iron could have originated from beyond Earth. The zinc sample found in the metal did not come from our solar system, and the ratios indicated that the metal may have been formed in a supernova far outside of our solar system.
