In the COVID-19 pandemic, there are various stakeholders like the CDC, local and federal government, model makers, media, and capitalists who have their interests and agendas. The shortage of masks and unknown upside of masks led to the decision of not recommending masks for everyone to prevent buying up the masks and keeping them from healthcare workers.
