Ruby literally had no reason to do any harm to her new roommate. The owner of the mobile home, who, remember, was Ruby's sister's boyfriend. Ruby had called his cell phone right after she got off the phone with 911 the day of the murder, and records indicate that his phone was in Ohio when he got the call, just as he told police.
