Horacio de la Iglesia, an Argentine biologist, has conducted research on the sleep patterns of indigenous tribes in Argentina by tracking their activity and exposure to light with an active watch. He found that contrary to the belief that our ancestors went to bed as soon as the sun went down, these tribes consistently went to bed three to three and a half hours after sunset due to the use of fire.
