The Supreme Court limited the authority of the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate carbon emissions from power plants in a 6-3 conservative court vote, as part of the Clean Air Act. The EPA’s regulations would have cut down on greenhouse gas emissions and could have tackled climate change; however, conservatives argue that such sweeping regulations are beyond the agency’s authority.
