Henry and Daphne Help Yard were among the Kiwi human shields who survived 70 different locations in Kuwait and Iraq during the Gulf War. Saddam had identified these locations as potential targets for the allies, and therefore, the Western human shields formed groups and were taken to various hotels in those areas.
