Texas Rangers' History of White Supremacy
The Texas Rangers were once used to enforce white supremacy at the barrel of a gun, resulting in the deaths of 15 unarmed Mexican people in 1918 and the forced relocation of their families across the border into Mexico. Research shows this violence against Mexicans was at its worst from 1915 to 1919 under the leadership of anti-Hispanic Governor James Pah Ferguson and the consistently anti-Hispanic William P. Hobby.
