The Aftermath of the First Atomic Bombing in History
August 6th, 1945 marked the day that the first atomic bombing took place in human history. The bomb, named Little Boy, triggered a nuclear chain reaction that created a core temperature of about one million degrees Celsius, leading to vaporization of around 20,000 people, internal organ ruptures, and death due to gamma rays, neutron radiation, flash burns, the blast wave, and firestorms.
