The ruins of the ancient city Tikal, located in the rainforest of Guatemala, include over 3,000 structures such as pyramids, temples, and burial chambers covering an area of over 16 square kilometers. While there is likely not a fully built subterranean city underneath Death Valley, there may be caves and tunnel systems used by indigenous cultures over the years.
