The Battle of Kohima and Imphal during World War II saw British Indian Army, with the help of their allied forces, stop the Japanese advance into Northeast India. The Japanese soldiers were running out of supplies and were reduced to unimaginable numbers, leaving no choice but to ask for retreat which was denied by their superior.
