The Coen Brothers' first feature film, Blood Simple, was funded through a trailer that convinced investors to give them 750k, shot on the same 16mm camera they used at the beginning of their career. The first day of filming was also the first time Joel, Ethan, and their friend Barry Sonnenfeld had been on a feature film set.
