Researchers tested the effects of maximizing morning light exposure and limiting evening light exposure to improve sleep. Participants were asked to go to bed 2-3 hours before their usual bedtime and wake up 2-3 hours earlier, as well as limit artificial light exposure in the evenings, resulting in improved sleep and reduced symptoms of depression.
