Women within the NXIVM cult were subjected to 30-45 minute branding sessions with a hot iron as part of a subculture within the larger cult. There were conflicting reports of whether or not the experience was positive, however, charges were brought against Keith Raniere, Allison Mack, and others involved in the cult.
