The founder of the John Burt Society, Carlton Welch, openly expressed admiration for the organizational tactics of his communist foes in creating a hierarchical structure for the society. Though some may see elements of grift, Welch stated that he drew on successful human experience in matters of organization as long as it did not involve sacrificing morality.
