The disappearance of Susan Jacobson and the murder of Cindy Vanderheiden are connected through Wesley Shermantine and Loren Herzog, two tandem killers in the late 1990s to 2000s. They are also charged with the murder of a second victim, a teenage girl named Chevelle Wheeler.
